The company was founded by Kevin Crosthwaite, a former CEO who became medically disabled , age 47 when his simple pacemaker surgery landed him in a wheelchair for two years. After spending 25 years in the consumer products industry, Mr. Crosthwaite shifted his focus and passion to wellness, fitness, combating obesity,diabetes and heart disease.

Fitness Mentors audience is children and the parents of children preschool to 8th grade, and students from the 9th through 12th grade.
