Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 6, 2006
FirePlanet, LLC today announced the deployment of a campus wide wireless network for Germantown Friends School, located in Philadelphia, PA.
The initiative was prompted by the ever-increasing technology needs of the school. In response to this, the administration decided to bring wireless capabilities to the campus, which give students, faculty, and staff access to their internal network and the Internet from anywhere on the school grounds.
Previously, the school had only a few access points, with no central management and limited capacity. The FirePlanet solution allows centralized management and monitoring of users and access points, which reduces the workload of network administrators. Additionally, a greater number of users are now able to access the network at once, and over a much larger area of the campus than before.
FirePlanet, LLC is a wireless network provider, headquartered in New York City. FirePlanet builds and manages public and private hotspots, and custom wireless networks. They handle installation, user billing, system maintenance, configuration, and support. FirePlanet has everything needed to provide reliable wireless access to the Internet. The FirePlanet networks are designed for schools, hotels, restaurants, marinas, office complexes, public areas, managed housing, and other types of businesses.
