Career Survey: Metro Atlanta Executives Hold Their City Dear
Whether tired of “doing the corporate shuffle” or staying in a developing market, Atlanta Metro area executives are fond of the city that they call home. In a recent survey on AtlantaExecutive.com, executives in transition commanding a salary in excess of $100,000 were asked a series of questions, among them whether they desire to stay in Atlanta if employment opportunities present themselves elsewhere.

In a recent survey on AtlantaExecutive.com, executives in transition commanding a salary in excess of $100,000 were asked a series of questions, among them whether they desire to stay in Atlanta if employment opportunities present themselves elsewhere.
Of the executives that currently reside in Atlanta, over 80% say they would prefer to remain in Atlanta, 5% want to move and 11% are indifferent. The number of those who wish to stay climbs even higher, to 90%, for survey participants who have children -- over 55% showed a strong conviction in their desire to stay in the Atlanta Metro area. Over 40% of respondents from outside of Atlanta said that they would prefer to move to Atlanta if the employment opportunity presented itself.
One key reason why executives may want to stay is the opportunities afforded by a developing market. Of the people surveyed, the average income for Atlanta executives was over $10,000 per year more than the national average. Few can deny that the cost of living in major metropolitan areas is high, but Atlanta provides an exception, based on the Regional Consumer Price Index and the Average Annual pay.
