TeamPlain Web Access is a web interface that allows accessing various components of Microsoft Team System such as work item tracking, reports, shared documents and source control system.

devBiz Business Solutions today announced the availability of TeamPlain Web Access, a web interface to Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team System.

TeamPlain Web Access will be available for download at http://www.teamplain.com .

Visual Studio 2005 Team System offers tightly integrated and extensible tools that enable the software development teams to reduce the complexity of development and improve communication and collaboration throughout the development process. It consists of new role-based tools, customizable processes and guidance and an integrated server to help team drive predictability, visibility and control into their software development process.

“We have been evaluating Microsoft’s Team System since the very early releases and we were excited about the benefits. However, we realized that managers, business users, and developers would need a simpler way to access these features. Our solution is a web based interface that can be used from almost any browser to access Team System features.” says Hakan Eskici, Marketing Manager at devBiz.

TeamPlain Web Access allows users to submit new bugs and tasks, list work items assigned to them, view project status reports, and access shared documents and files in source control repositories using a web browser on any operating system. This enables broader participation to the development lifecycle by enabling cross platform access to Team Foundation Server.

One of strengths of Microsoft Team System is the process extensibility. Organizations can use existing methodology templates such as MSF Agile, MSF for CMMI, Scrum or define their own process that individual projects will follow. TeamPlain Web Access is designed to provide the same level of extensibility.

“Our customers can define their own work item types, form layouts, and custom workflows using the work item tracking extensibility features of Team System, and our product will seamlessly adapt itself to the changes. It was our first priority to provide a tight integration and to support the same level of customizability that Team System offers.” says Eskici.

The mainstream interest in TeamPlain Web Access has peaked shortly after the product’s demonstration at the official Microsoft Team System announcement at VSLive 2006 in San Francisco. devBiz have been closely working with early customers such as Boeing, Intel, Fujitsu, HP, JP Morgan, and Microsoft to improve the features and functionality of TeamPlain Web Access.

A free evaluation version will be available at http://www.teamplain.com, with single user edition offered at no cost.
