Bibhu Mohapatra Slipped into Lakme Fashion Week Shows in Mumbai
Mohapatra was impressed by much of what he saw during the Fashion week in Mumbai and would not single out any one designer for praise.
(PRWEB) April 7, 2006 -- Designer, Bibhu Mohapatra slipped unnoticed in to the shows last week in Mumbai.
When asked why he made the trip all he way from New York, he said, "I was dying to see what is going on in my home country, India, in the world of fashion design. Indian style is having such a huge influence in the west, I wanted to see what was happening here first hand. I almost did not make my flight. I was in a fitting with Salma Hayak and we were having too much fun. The client always comes first. I was able to get on the next flight and i made it to some of the shows"
Mr. Mohapatra returned to New York for the 16th Anniversary gala for for the organization, Lotus Music and Dance which was held on April 5th.
Mr. Mohapatra seemed to be very pleased with what he saw, but would not single out any one designer for praise.
He did say that if ever invited to participate, he would give it serious consideration. The logistical issues and cost of putting togeather a fashion show in India from New York would be the challenge. It is possible that an Indian based partner would make it more logistically possible.
