Hamrick Software, the developer of VueScan, the world's most popular scanning software for consumers and professionals, has announced support for the full range of Hewlett-Packard (HP) scanners.
VueScan supports over 120 HP scanners, and over 500 scanners in total, in addition to support for 185 digital camera raw files.
"We have a very large customer base -- over 130,000 people. For many years customers have asked us to support more HP scanners. We are delighted that HP has provided us technical documentation and support for their scanners, and this has enabled us to add support for many additional HP scanners, on both Mac OS X and Windows." noted Ed Hamrick, president of Hamrick Software.
"By using VueScan they can have many more years of use from their HP scanners, giving them many additional productivity and image quality features."
In addition to increasing the useful life span of people's HP scanners, VueScan lets people use these scanners on the new Intel-based Macintosh systems.
VueScan is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. VueScan offers options for scanning faded slides and prints and automatically adjusts images to optimum color balance that reduces the need to manually do this in Photoshop. It includes built-in IT8 color calibration of scanners, producing colors that look true to life, batch scanning and other advanced and powerful scanning and productivity features, including PDF output. VueScan VueScan is available in two editions, Standard Edition ($49.95 USD) and Professional Edition ($89.95). The Professional Edition adds unlimited free upgrades, advanced IT8 color calibration and support for raw scan files. Multi-user licenses are available.
