DBM Solutions, LLC Launches Secure Surveys Online

New consulting service creates online surveys that do not require any software downloads. A state department of public health uses service to quickly gather information required to determine state’s emergency preparedness.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 8, 2006 -- DBM Solutions, LLC today launched Secure Surveys Online, a new division that provides consulting services for creating secure, confidential, web-based surveys that are easy to answer, administer, and analyze.

Secure Surveys Online has already helped a state department of public health quickly evaluate the state’s preparedness for any terrorist incident or public health disaster by collecting information from over two hundred and fifty Emergency Medical Services systems from across the state. A previous paper based survey that was sent out by the state resulted in an extremely low response rate even after a two-month period.

Secure Surveys Online transformed the initial paper survey into an electronic format that could be accessed easily through a web interface. Once the survey was in the Secure Surveys Online system, the Secure Surveys Online team handled all aspects of administering the survey, including:

  • Communicating with target audience – sending an introductory cover letter by e-mail, reminder e-mails when the survey deadline approached, thank you notes to all respondents.

  • Ensuring accuracy and security – sending instructions with individual logins and passwords to the target audience.

  • Monitoring responses – collecting responses into a consolidated database and monitoring response rate.

The respondents did not have to download any software or other web-based program (as they were simply brought to the Secure Surveys Online host website) in order to fill out the survey, adding to the ease of the process and timeliness in their responses.

At the time of the posted deadline, over 70% of the EMS providers had responded, giving the state a much more accurate grasp on its level of preparedness. This new response rate was seven times that of the original survey in just one quarter of the time. Once all surveys were received, our team issued a report tailored to answer the questions that the department of public health had regarding emergency preparedness.

Bob Moriarty, Partner DBM Solutions, explained the rationale for founding Secure Surveys Online, “We found that many of our clients struggled with getting up to date information quickly. The solution was obvious. Give them a technology based solution that relieves them of administrative burden.” Danielle Norton, Partner DBM Solutions, added, “We’re excited that we can help speed up how quickly our clients can gather information from the field and at the same time get rid of their data entry costs from paper surveys.” She mentioned that other initial clients include private and public schools interested in surveying their teachers about the learning environment.
