Podcasting Benefits for Businesses Will Increase Greatly Over the Next Year

Podcasting for businesses will soon be as important as having a website. It is a very powerful new marketing and advertising tool, that has not been fully tapped into yet. Within a year however businesses everywhere will be scrambling to set one up.

(PRWEB) April 8, 2006 -- Podcasting has grown considerably over the past year and it shows no signs of slowing up. Businesses and musicians are finally catching on just as they did about ten years when they figured out the importance of having a website. Podcasting is still new enough to most people that they are not sure how to use it for their benefit. By the end of the year however, once the initial speculation has worn off, everyone will be scrambling to get one.

Benefits for businesses:

As a business the biggest selling point, next to having a quality product, is the ability to promote and advertise it to the public. By having a podcast it will do that and then some. For example take a video game or computer software company. They are consistently coming out with new games and programs. Now if they set up a podcast, they would be able to immediately update their customers about new product information. Whenever a new game or software program was announced, they could show a preview through a video podcast, list the features, as well as the release date. This will initially get the attention of the customer. A week or so before the product will be available, send out another podcast with similar information announcing that the product will be available in a week. When the release date has arrived send another post that says it has been released, and can be purchased at store A, B, and C.

This will not only help with customer relations, but also allow them to receive the information automatically instead of having to search for it. By setting up a podcast the web user has the ability subscribe for free. Whenever a new podcast is posted it is automatically sent and downloaded. There are many ways to subscribe to these podcasts, such as through a web users homepage with google or yahoo, as well iTunes.

Benefits for musicians:

A constant struggle for musicians is having the ability to promote their music and make it available to the public. With podcasting they are now able to not only promote their music, but videos, tour dates, and album releases. There are literally hundreds of podcast directories and by the end of the year there will likely be thousands. Most have a section specifically for musicians and there genre. iTunes is the most popular podcasting directory, especially for musicians. By having your music available on iTunes means that music fans searching for new tunes can find your band and upload it to their iPod. Whenever you post a new song, video, or want to announce a show, it will automatically be downloaded to their iTunes account, and uploaded to their iPod.

For businesses and musicians the benefits of podcasting can and will be overpowering. Expect that by the end of the year and within the next two, everyone will be podcasting. By providing up to the minute news, companies will be able to keep customers and investors well informed. Musicians will find it much easier to spread their sound across the world. Many people may be skeptical, but be assured that this is not just another fad. Twelve years ago lots of people thought the Internet wouldn’t last, today it has become one of the easiest ways to communicate and find information quickly. Podcasting won’t be far behind.
