Spring 2006: The Bracelet Industry is in Bloom

Springtime is finally here, and with it a blooming bracelet industry. Big funky bracelets in particular are gaining ground, and so are bangles, and not just for women. Men are also joining in on the bracelet trend this year.

Heber, UT (PRWEB) April 8, 2006 -- Springtime is finally here, and with it a blooming bracelet industry. Big funky bracelets in particular are gaining ground, and so are bangles, and not just for women. Men are also joining in on the bracelet trend this year.

Bracelets are no longer just plastic rings or even chunky wooden circles. The industry is bursting with color, and consumers are mixing bright colors and styles to fit their own taste.

At the top of women’s lists are stacked thin and thick bangles, worn in bunches of alternating textures and sizes. The simple designs go with a mix-and-match wardrobe.

Big colorful beads and contrasting textures are in, perfect for a bright spring and bold summer. Chunky Boho-style jewelry still draws admiring eyes and adds panache to any girl’s wardrobe. Even so, some designers have moved away from Boho-inspired trends and are heading toward more romantic styles with pearls, soft colors, floral motifs and ornamentation. These styles go perfectly with the trend toward all-white tops and skirts this season.

Italian charm bracelets are still in -- with the traditional letters, numbers and popular symbols like hearts, butterflies and flowers, as well as fresher charms and designs that reflect a person’s individuality and stylishness. Charm bracelets are found in the traditional chain style and the more flamboyant floppy style, hung with hearts, crosses and gold discs. More companies are designing unique handcrafted bracelets that tell a person’s individual story.

Gemstones are all the rage this year -- mixing different colored gems in a single piece is especially hot. Warm colored gemstones as well as bold and beautiful colors -- especially blues and greens, as well as oranges and pinks -- complement this year’s fashion picks. Designers are also using oversized exotic and retro baubles using bold geometric shapes, as well as pieces inspired by nature with leaves and branches. Or try a bracelet that looks like a watch, another growing trend.

Chic rhinestone bracelets are smart, adding elegance to casual clothes. And this year’s more sophisticated bracelets -- worn by the rich and famous -- are now more accessible to the everyday girl (and boy). Titanium and acrylic are making designer jewelry more affordable this year.

Men aren’t left out of the booming bracelet trend. They’ve jumped right in, snatching up bracelets with a masculine twist. Titanium chain bracelets are in; their brushed finishes make them a little less flamboyant in order to help men maintain that macho appearance. Yet, men are able to find bracelets that fit their style, and provide the correct amount of “bling.”

Spring 2006 is shaping up to be a boon for the bracelet and jewelry industry as a whole, as women and men experiment with the mix-and-match styles gracing this season’s runways.
