Bellingham, WA (PRWEB) April 7, 2006
GSI Commerce Inc. today announced it has signed a multiyear agreement to provide Iomega International S.A. with an e-commerce solution for Iomega data storage products, in more than 47 European countries.
GSI Commerce will provide the e-commerce technology platform and will integrate it with Iomega’s (http://www.iomega-europe.com) third-party fulfillment and customer care providers. The technology platform replaces an in-house system and provides country-specific web stores for the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland, as well as a multilingual e-commerce site that will service the remainder of Europe, Israel and South Africa. Overall, the platform will support six languages and six currencies for Iomega’s online stores in Europe. The store launches are scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
“We are excited to partner with Iomega International. We welcome the opportunity to help Iomega enhance its multinational e-commerce business in Europe,” said Enda-Gerard Breslin, managing director of international for GSI Commerce.
“By partnering with GSI Commerce, we gain a state of the art and proven e-commerce platform which will allow Iomega to move from a “one size fits all” solution to an extremely focused offering in each target market. GSI Commerce has clearly demonstrated that it has the international operating expertise that will support Iomega’s efforts to successfully grow our direct-to-customer online business,” said Niall O’Gorman, Web Operations Manager of Iomega International S.A.
GSI Commerce’s international platform supports major European currencies, payments systems and taxation requirements. Internationally, GSI Commerce provides logistics and customer care through integrating its technology platform with a network of third-party providers and by connecting directly into the infrastructure of its partners.
