Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) April 10, 2006 –
The outspoken web usability evangelists at VKI Studios are once again in the spotlight. In a move likely to ruffle some pinstriped feathers, VKI is now posting unsanctioned usability snapshot reports on its website.
Every Monday morning, the web usability analysts at VKI select a well-known website. Then, they visit the chosen site and take note of the first ten usability problems they encounter. The results – always enlightening and often amusing – are known as the “VKI TEN”. These snapshot usability reports are now being posted weekly at http://www.vkistudios.com/usability-snapshots.html.
Boldly asserting “We’ve never met a website we couldn’t improve”, VKI has already posted VKI TEN snapshot usability reviews of such high profile websites as Audi, Toshiba, Samsung and Sony.
John Hossack, VKI’s Vice President of Usability explained, “It’s not our intention to embarrass or disparage the companies we write VKI TEN reports on. We simply want to make the point that it’s not just small businesses who struggle with usability issues on their websites. Even Fortune 500 companies have trouble getting it right.”
“VKI TEN reports are not comprehensive usability evaluations,” Hossack continued. “They’re brief snapshots, outlining the first ten issues we encountered. It’s amazing how quickly we can find ten usability issues on most websites. But we just look for ten, then we stop… regardless of how tempting it is to keep highlighting further issues.”
“In posting the VKI TEN, we hope to raise awareness of common website usability problems. The goal is simply to promote good web usability. Of course, writing these snapshot reports is also a great warm-up exercise for our analysts.”
At the forefront of web usability, VKI Studios specializes in delivering insightful and actionable website usability evaluations for their clients.
