Celebrities, artists, activists and community leaders convene in Los Angeles this weekend to kick off Let My People Sing, a nine-day citywide Passover Festival.

And the Lord Said "Let My People Sing".

Even for the City of Angels, the Let My People Sing Festival has put a fresh spin on the Passover Holiday.

The Nine Day Passover Festival kicks off with FaithJam'06 on Saturday Evening, April 8th, at the Islamic Center of Southern California. This Multi-Faith event includes the Yuval Ron Ensemble, Tunisian musician MC Rai, the Praise Team from Christ Our Redeemer Church, Muslim comedian Maz Jobrani, and Grammy certified songwriter Ani Zonnefeld. This boundary-smashing event, with performers and religions engaging each other as well as the audience, starts at 8:30 PM at the Islamic Center.

The following day, Forest Whittaker, Danny Glover, Ed Asner, Mare Winningham, The Rev. Cecil Murray, and Rabbi Harold Schulweis will join together in A Seder for Darfur. Proceeds will benefit the global humanitarian organization Jewish World Watch, which works to eliminate the ethnic cleansing horrors taking place in Darfur.

Let My People Sing continues the following week with a series of Passover events including "The Man Seder" at the University of Judaism, and Jewish Gospel Artist Joshua Nelson at Sinai Temple's Shabbat happening Friday Night Live. Let My People Rock—the festival finale—is an all day celebration featuring Israeli Hip Hop Superstars Hadag Nachash on Sunday April 16th.
