San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 10, 2006 -- The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) announces two new tools to communicate news, updates and previews of the upcoming International Conference, 4–7 June in Vancouver, British Columbia: the official conference blog, In Session, and a series of weekly conference podcasts, titled ConferenceCast.

In Session, (http://blogs.iabc.com/ic), offers a forum for communication professionals to discuss topics and issues that will be examined and debated at the International Conference. Hosted by 16 resident bloggers, ranging from conference speakers and program advisory committee members to IABC staff and Vancouver know-it-alls, the conference blog offers IABC members and non-members the opportunity to find out more about the conference program, connect with speakers and other attendees, and get tips from IABC’s local hospitality team on Vancouver’s hot tourist spots and events.

ConferenceCast, (http://blogs.iabc.com/ic/category/podcasts), is IABC’s official podcast for the International Conference and features interviews, insights and a behind-the-scenes look at this year’s conference. The weekly podcasts will be hosted and produced by Neville Hobson, ABC, and Shel Holtz, ABC, who co-host their own communications-focused podcast, “For Immediate Release.” The first episode of ConferenceCast takes a look at the IABC Gold Quill Awards and features interviews with the Blue Ribbon Panel judges at IABC headquarters in San Francisco.

According to Chris Grossgart, senior vice president of education at IABC and member of the In Session blogging squad, “Our goal with In Session is to engage participants before they arrive in Vancouver for a richer conference experience, and to capture the conference experience for those who don’t attend the conference. We encourage IABC members and non-members to ask questions, share comments and keep the discussion rolling as the countdown to Vancouver begins.”

In Session will kick into high gear in June with live updates from Vancouver, offering highlights and best practices from sessions, interviews with speakers, and comments from first-time and veteran conference attendees.
