Free agents Abdual Howard (Safety, Florida State) and Davy Ford (Running Back/Returner, Florida State) are currently working out for NFL teams. Both expect to compete this upcoming training camp for roster spots.

Abdual Howard most recently played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions in 2004. The 6-0, 203 pound safety was named All-NFL Europe in 2003 and 2004. Howard led NFLE in interceptions in 2004 with five. He was also the fourth leading tackler in the league in 2004. Since leaving NFL Europe in 2004 Howard has lost 12 pounds and improved his speed. He recently ran a 4.45 40 and a 4.02 short shuttle. Those times would have placed him near the top of all safeties that worked out at the 2006 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, IN.

Davy Ford most recently played in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys in 2004. The 5-10 206 pound running back was assigned to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe in 2004. Ford led the Galaxy with 20 carries for 182 yards (9.1 YPC) in his first three games. He also has experience in the CFL (Toronto Argonauts). Ford still holds the fastest 40-time in Florida State history with a 4.25 time in 2000. He is versatile, providing big play ability as a third down back and also on punt and kick-off returns. Ford has been training in Atlanta to improve his lateral speed.
