Viral Blogging Success: VistaDB Rides Blogosphere for $43,000

Makers of VistaDB give $43,000 worth of free software to industry bloggers for spreading message to .NET developers

San Diego, Calif. (PRWEB) April 10, 2006 -- San Diego, CA based Vista Software rides the blogosphere and gives away over $43,000 worth of their popular VistaDB .NET SQL database engine software. The company embarked on a new type of viral marketing campaign where they gave .NET bloggers a free copy of their VistaDB .NET software in exchange for blogging about the product.

"We personally contacted hundreds of bloggers that had blog sites with a focus on .NET technology and asked them if they would like to participate.", stated Anthony Carrabino, President and CEO of Vista Software. "Some bloggers were happy to receive our offer and others ignored us. The title of one blog was very flattering 'If VistaDB was a woman... I'd marry it'"

Over 190 bloggers liked the offer and posted blogs about VistaDB on their web sites, including one of the most prolific bloggers on Microsoft technology, Robert Scoble, who posted good things about VistaDB on his popular Scobleizer blog site.

The end of this viral blogging marketing effort falls on the heels of the company's latest VistaDB 2.1.5 update, which provides improved support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft .NET 2.0.
