Eracent, Inc. announced today the availability of the next generation of EnterpriseEM, the Entitlements Management Solution for software licensing. EnterpriseEM joined the Eracent suite of products over two years ago and features unprecedented automation and support for software license compliance and purchase management. While most software asset managers struggle with spreadsheets and manual comparison of purchase records to discovery data, EnterpriseEM automates this process, saving time and resources. “Software asset managers jump at the chance to really gain control of their inventory at more than one single point in time,” stated Jack Micklovich, Eracent’s VP of Software Asset Management Solutions. “With EnterpriseEM, the inventory never slides back out of control as it does with the spreadsheet and discovery data-alone approach. This tool enhances the value of good discovery data.”

Today’s release continues to expand EnterpriseEM’s sophisticated presentation of license risk exactly how the software asset manager needs the information. For instance, EnterpriseEM 4.0 extends its roster of reports with hotlinks so that not only can you see your exact license position, but you can click on a link to see exactly where that software is installed. “While we have had extensive reporting with drill-down details for you to control your license position, we now offer even more views, providing drill-down links to show the machines where unlicensed software is installed,” explains Micklovich. “That automates everything except making your decision on how to resolve the discrepancy.”

The release has a variety of improvements based on user feedback, such as support for all browsers so that web access is possible in any environment. The Universal Translator option that allows integration with any discovery tool received new enhancements as well. The launch of this option earlier this year is a powerful statement of Eracent’s commitment to support customers maximizing their investment in IT tools by integrating where that represents the best choice for the customer.
