White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa's Human Performance Program Offers to Improve Employee Performance and Promote Corporate Strength

Niagara’s White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa provides participants with a unique opportunity to institute reasonable lifestyle changes to enhance their overall health, energy and job performance.

As the national rates of lifestyle illnesses (heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity) climb -- employee productivity has dropped. Tired, stressed out, and sick employees do not perform well and cost today’s companies a drop in on-the-job productivity, and what has been referred to as both presenteeism and absenteeism. The White Oaks Conference Resort addresses this trend with a one of a kind performance program designed to unlock personal strength.

According to Graham S. Lowe, a sociology professor at the University of Alberta, in his article “Here in Body, Absent in Productivity -- Presenteeism Hurts!” Lowe concludes that “organizational leaders must realize working people harder is not a sustainable recipe for higher productivity. A far better approach is to provide healthy working conditions that support people to work smarter, not harder.”

Just as an athlete would never expect to be able to perform at a high level without paying close attention to his/her body and nutrition, neither should high-performing executives. Human Performance in the office or on the field requires positive energy and attitude. Personal wellness can create this positive energy.

Participants in the White Oaks Human Performance program will learn:

  • How to incorporate even small doses of exercise safely into their everyday lives to effectively lower the presence of stress hormones in their blood, increase their energy levels, avoid or manage hypertension (high blood pressure), boost their immune system and reduce their risk for many lifestyle illnesses
  • How to eat more healthfully to avoid placing extra stress on the body, increase their mood and energy levels, improve body and brain function and avoid illness
  • How to trigger their stress response system to improve their performance when needed but more importantly, how to save it for when they need it, avoiding much of the illness that accompanies prolonged stress

Each participant will leave with a personal health “report card”, a snapshot of their current health status, as well as a complete lifestyle program specifically designed for them, says Louise Blais White Oaks Human Performance Program Director and Certified Personal Trainer. “They will also receive on-line support from their Personal Trainer and Lifestyle Coach to ensure that their lifestyle transition occurs as successfully and seamlessly as possible.”

Wellness assessments, fitness programs, methods to improving work production and lifestyle balance techniques are presented in a comfortable and non-judgmental atmosphere. All assessment and personalized exercise program information is disseminated one-on-one with the employee’s very own Personal Trainer.

The program also provides group seminars that are designed to provide participants with hands-on information that they can implement immediately into their every-day lives to reduce their stress levels, increase their energy levels and begin living healthier, more productive lifestyles.

The Human Performance Transformation Program is available only at White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
