Pat Lynch interviewed Dr. Laibow for the woman-run and woman-focused site, WomensRadio.com, on the issue of physicians to prescribe, and women's rights to select safer, gentler natural, individualized bio identical hormones in place of synthetic hormones with proved dangers. Bio identical hormones are plant-derived compounds which are made in laboratories and are identical to the hormones produced in a woman's body during her reproductive life.

When the National Institute of Health ended the Women’s' Health Initiative (WHI) nearly three years early (May 1, 2002) because of the grave dangers to women posed by the synthetic hormones manufactured and provided to the study by Wyeth (Premarin © and Prempro ©large numbers of women switched to bio identical hormones. The impact was a 68% decline in the sales of the "Premarin Family" of drugs between 2002 and 2004 according to the results posted by pharmaceutical giant Wyeth on their website (http://Wyeth.com).

On October 4, 2005 Wyeth filed a Citizen's Complaint with the FDA to make these natural hormones unavailable and to sharply curb the activities of the special pharmacists who custom make the creams, pills or suppositories in which these hormones can be incorporated. Although public comment was set to close on April 4, 2006, over 37,000 comments were received and the FDA's server reportedly collapsed under the volume of comments in the final days of the comment period. The comment period has been extended to May 4, 2006. Comments may be sent to the FDA at http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/healthfreedomusa/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=3356
