(PRWEB) April 12, 2006 -- Unique Productions International (UPI) of Florida added unique ambiance to the 2006 Seminole Tribe of Florida Jason Taylor Celebrity Golf Classic gala held Sunday, April 2 at the Parrot Jungle Island in Miami. Over 350 attended the event held to help raise funds and awareness for the Jason Taylor Foundation; Holtz Children’s Hospital; and Take Stock in Children.
“We knew that this event was going to have a guest list of ‘who’s who’ in sports so our task was to entertain, and also to raise the bar for this competitive set. We wanted to demonstrate through lighting, sound and ambiance what separates our team from others,” said Unique Productions Account Manager Derwin Jones.
“To achieve our goals, we wanted the Unique team to create a classy cool jazz feel from the old Chicago speak-easy era, making the atmosphere warm and inviting,” said Unique Productions planner Maria Munro. “By blending Royal Blue table cloths and matching stage backdrop to accent the mood we set this event apart from previous years to give it a brand new ambiance in the same venue. To do so, every table was complimented with bistro style silver lamps and a custom bar was built to blend the reception area with the most important aspect of the gala which was the Auction to raise funds.
Production specialist Max Munro then orchestrated static lighting with Mac 2000 movers to further create a theatrical production for the Jesse Jones Jr. Quartet and over-all room appearance.
Some of the high profile athletes and celebrities that needed to be “wowed” included emcees Joe Rose of NBC-6 and 790 The Ticket. In addition to Miami Dolphins All-Pro Defensive End Jason Taylor, the guest list also included Dan Marino; Brian Urlacher (Chicago Bears, 2005 NFL Defensive Player of the Year); Boris Kodjoe (Madea’s Family Reunion, “Soul Food” the series, Brown Sugar); Michael Irvin (ESPN, former Dallas Cowboy and Miami Hurricane); Dwight Freeney (Indianapolis Colts, 2004 NFL Sack Champion); Chris Chambers (Dolphins 2005 MVP); Richard Dent (former Chicago Bear, Super Bowl XX MVP); O.J. McDuffie (790 the Ticket, two-time Miami Dolphin MVP); Todd Heap (Baltimore Ravens, All-Pro Tight End); Andre Dawson (former Chicago Cub, 1987 NL MVP); Randy McMichael; Trevor Penick (O-Town); Tony Siragusa (Fox, former Baltimore Raven); Terrell Buckley; and others.
Some of the Parrot Jungle Island animal guests at the event included a 20-foot python; an 11-month old tiger cub; a very friendly skunk; twin 2-year-old Orangutans Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Pie; Godzilla, an Asian Water Monitor; and a parrot that made the room rounds, standing on guest shoulders and showing off beautiful plumage. The youth dance troupe, Zo’s Groove Kids, also performed.
