Migraine and Headache Poetry Contest Winners Announced

Timed to coordinate with National Poetry Month, the winners of the “Putting Our Heads Together” Poetry Contest 2006 have been announced. All of the qualified entries to the contest have been published to the Web site Help for Headaches and Migraine (http://www.helpforheadaches.com).

The “Putting Our Heads Together” Poetry Contest 2006 was run by author and patient advocate Teri Robert, who has been experiencing headaches and Migraine attacks since childhood. “All of the works submitted were truly inspiring,” said Robert. “Events such as this contest serve both as an outlet for people living with these illnesses and as a way to enlighten others.” The contest is an annual event with the next call for entries early in 2007.

Entries to this year’s contest were judged by staff members and volunteers for MAGNUM, the National Migraine Association (http://www.migraines.org). MAGNUM works to raise public awareness of Migraine as a true neurological disease affecting nearly 36 million Americans and provide education, support, and advocacy for Migraineurs.
