Castleton United Methodist Church Using Latest Podcast Technology to Reach Out

Pastor Mac Hamon's weekly podcast program is something to hear.

Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) April 13, 2006 -- Pastor Mac Hamon, Senior Pastor of Castleton United Methodist Church has started a weekly podcasting program “Grace - Not Perfect but Faithful”. Pastor Mac Hamon is presenting messages which will encourage us to venture into living the abundant life of hope, reconciliation, and love.

Podcasts are radio- like programs that are available for millions of iPods, MP3 players, and similar portable players around the world. These programs can be either automatically downloaded for the portable electronic players or listened to on the website.

“In response to Jesus’ request that we go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation,, the Castleton United Methodist Church wants to fulfill this mission,” said Pastor Mac Hamon. “ I am delighted to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our neighborhood, our community, and our world,” continued Pastor Mac Hamon.

Every week, a new episode will be added. Grace - Not Perfect but Faithful’s podcasts and audio files can be accessed through the church’s web site (www.castletonumc.org), PraiseCast’s website (www.praisecast.com) and many other global podcast directories.

About Castleton United Methodist Church:
In 1843, the (Castleton) Methodist Episcopal Church was organized by the Reverend James T. Wright in Vertland, a small settlement north of the present Castleton along the railroad tracks. In 2004, Castleton UMC merged with Sunrise at Geist UMC, creating a congregation with two worship centers. Castleton Church is a congregation of approximately 1,500 people. This warm, caring, congregation gathers enthusiastically as one family every Sunday to worship God in a reverent way.

About Pastor Mac Hamon:
Pastor Mac Hamon has a Ph.D. from Indiana University where he taught a variety of classes in speech communication. Pastor Hamon has held pastorates in Harrodsburg/Springville, Milroy, Sellersburg, St. Mark's in Bloomington, and Central in Evansville. He has published articles in Communications Quarterly, Hoosier United Methodist, and other communication journals. Through an Eli Lily Grant in radio/television, Pastor Hamon produced programs for the NBC radio network, WISH-TV, WTHR-TV, and WTTV-TV.
