In a series of articles based on Rais Boneza's recent survey for Transcend Africa Network, Boneza spotlights little-known political, social, and religious developments in various areas of Africa.
"Africa is economically a poor and marginalised continent. And since the end of the cold war it has no longer been of any strategic or diplomatic importance to the great powers." With this statement, Boneza leads into awareness of situations hidden from world view by world media organizations.
For example, Boneza reveals bitter truths about the Great Lakes Region: "Almost thirty conflicts have raged annually since the end of the cold war; many of them in Africa. The Great-lakes region of Africa is one of the volatile epicentres of violence and conflict... The complexities of the conflicts in that region have been found largely incomprehensible or of little interest to the international community until more than 4 million victims were lost in the conflict."
