And the Winners Are...Malibu & Santa Monica
On Monday April 10th, the Malibu Film Foundation announced the winners for the 7th annual Malibu International Film Festival and honored Brett Ratner with an Award for his “Achievement in the Arts” at the Malibu International Film Festival Awards Dinner Party at Gladstone’s Malibu.

(PRWEB) April 15, 2006 -- Search lights lit the nights sky, limousines, celebrities, red carpet and crowds lined the streets and sidewalks to mark the Opening Night of the 7th Malibu International Film Festival and the world premiere of Cesario “Block” Montano’s film “Rising Son: The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi. A lavish party & Second Amendment Co. fashion show hosted by The Victorian followed the premiere on Friday April 7th.
This year’s Malibu International Film Festival premiered and screened over 70 independent films from around the world and held events in Malibu and Santa Monica. The Festival is a two-city affair due to the Festival doubling attendance and film submissions from past years. Santa Monica is to Malibu as Park City is to Sundance exclaims Festival Founder and Producer, David Katz. To provide a screening location for the city of Malibu, the Malibu International Film Festival and Jaguar Cars joined forces this year to create the Jaguar Theater in the Cross Creek Shopping Center directly in front of the New Malibu Theater (presently under construction).

Presenters included Robert Evans, Jessica Alba, Robert Rusler, William Sadler and David Katz.
Top honors went to Cesario “Block” Montano’s film “Rising Son: The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi. Mayor Richard Riordan received a community support award for sponsoring this years Festival.
