New Web site Debuts for RV Travelers with Dogs

RV enthusiasts who travel with dogs have a new online resource in RVingWithDogs.com. The website includes daily commentary by editors Julee and Jack Meltzer, authors of the popular guidebook "Camping and RVing with Dogs," as well as a directory of "dog-friendly" campgrounds.

Edmonds, WA (PRWEB) April 14, 2006 -- RV enthusiasts who travel with dogs have a new online resource in RVingWithDogs.com. The Web site includes daily commentary by editors Julee and Jack Meltzer, authors of the popular guidebook "Camping and RVing with Dogs," as well as a directory of "dog-friendly" campgrounds.

The Web site is part of larger network of RV Web sites that includes RVtravel.com and RVbookstore.com. "Our surveys at RVtravel.com have shown that about half of all RVers travel with a dog," said publisher Chuck Woodbury. "Until now, there was no Web resource that directly served this large audience."

Editors Jack and Julee Meltzer are full-time RVers who have traveled more than 150,000 miles across the United States with two German Shepherds. They have observed the sometimes frustrating situations that traveling with a dog can present. "Campground directories will advertise that dogs are welcome but when you arrive you learn their definition of a dog doesn't include those over 25 pounds," said Julee Meltzer.

The directory of "dog-friendly" campgrounds at RVingWithDogs.com (http://www.rvingwithdogs.com) consists mostly of reader submissions. After a Web site visitor provides the basic information about a particular campground or RV park - its policies and facilities - other readers are invited to add comments. The result is that the information is kept freshly updated.

Among the topics the Meltzers cover at RVingWithDogs.com include trip planning, campground etiquette, emergency first aid and news of useful products especially suited for RV living with dogs.
