Waltham, MA (PRWEB) April 13, 2006 -- The Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) at Boston University presents an Evening with Frederick Wiseman, arguably the greatest living documentary filmmaker. This very special event takes place at the school’s Waltham MA campus on Monday, April 17 at 6:30 PM and is free and open to the public. To reserve a seat, call 1-800-808-2342.

“Mr. Wiseman comes to CDIA for a rare public appearance,” said Federico Muchnik, Director of Digital Filmmaking at CDIA. Muchnik continued, “Considered a master of his art, Mr. Wiseman has made 36 films in 38 years, many of them considered by documentary historians to be masterpieces of the form.”

Since his groundbreaking debut film in 1967, “Titicut Follies,” a harrowing, graphic portrayal of a mental hospital, Wiseman has examined human experience through his depiction of American institutions, including “Hospital,” “High School,” “Welfare,” “Public Housing” and “Basic Training.”
