An updated version of CaRP converts podcasts, Media RSS feeds, and a wider variety of international feeds to HTML and integrates them automatically and seamlessly into webpages.
Orem, UT (PRWEB) April 17, 2006 -- Gecko Tribe, LLC has released updates to CaRP, the popular RSS to HTML converter, enabling websites to display content from newsfeeds using podcast and Media RSS technology, as well as feeds in a wider variety of languages. Webmasters looking for automatically updating, search engine friendly content can use CaRP to convert RSS feeds to HTML and integrate it seamlessly into their webpages.
The recent enhancements to CaRP enable it to display images from feeds using Media RSS extensions, such as those published by the Flickr photo tagging service, and to display icons linking to the audio files pointed to by podcast feeds. Internationalization enhancements include automatic conversion and proper multi-byte character handling of feeds published in a wide variety of character encodings such as those used by Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and many other newsfeeds.
CaRP is popular both for publishing teasers and links for ones own content throughout one's website, as well as for search engine optimization. Web pages frequently updated with relevant content are visited more often by search engines, and tend to rank higher in search engine results.
Media RSS is a set of extensions to the standard RSS format published by Yahoo! which greatly enhance handling of multimedia content.
Podcasts are newsfeeds containing links to audio files, such as recordings of radio programs. Podcast feeds enable subscribers to automatically download and listen to the audio rather than reading the newsfeed content, and simplify the republishing of content originally created in audio form. The term "podcast" is a combination of the name of Apple Computer's iPod digital audio player and "broadcast".
