Burlington, KY — April 17, 2006 — Even before the release of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy by New Line Cinema the Lord of the Rings books authored by J.R.R. Tolkien created one of the largest and most ravenous collecting community online.

The beginnings of TolkienTown.com go back to the months before the first movie ever came out as a way to sell collectibles to fans of Tolkien’s books. “We saw that over $10,000 of Lord of the Rings collectibles per day were being sold on Ebay before the movies were released” said Jeremy Pryor, founder of TolkienTown.com.

Once the movies were in full swing and new fans and collectors were exploding into the online market TolkienTown.com was poised to service the LOTR community. A huge ever expanding inventory of Lord of the Rings merchandise from around the world was collected and put online for sale.

Now that four years have come and gone since TolkienTown.com’s launch they are going through the company’s massive inventory and slashing prices on over one hundred different items and offering them for sale between 50% and 90% off.

“This is a once in a lifetime chance for Lord of the Rings collectors,” said Pryor, “Our supply is quickly dwindling and we’re encouraging everyone to take a look before most of these rare Lord of the Rings collectibles on sale are gone for good.” Product categories of note include Lord of the Rings Jewelry, Lord of the Rings Action Figures and Lord of the Rings Collectibles.

Now that less and less products are being manufactured for the Lord of the Rings, TolkienTown.com’s parent company AWE (Another World Enterprises) has gone on to launch a variety of other stores including online shops for Narnia merchandise, Spiderman merchandise, Curious George merchandise and even a site for custom military rings.
