"Old Nene's Book Of Hawaiian Nursery Rhymes" is a delightful collection of twenty nursery rhymes rewritten in Hawaiian and English. The watercolor illustrations by Bonnie Everette-Hawkes show the Hawaiian people in ancient, as well as modern Hawaiian dress, surrounded by tropical landscapes.

Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) April 16, 2006 -- Nalani Scharsch introduces the Hawaiian Language through nursery rhymes with the publication of "Old Nene's Book Of Hawaiian Nursery Rhymes", in conjunction with Lulu, the world’s fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books ~ founded in 2002.

This Paperback/Hardcover book will be followed by the republication of the Electronic Book Version, which will include audio, so that the reader can hear the exact pronunciation of each Hawaiian word. Also unique to this Hapa-Hawaiian Nursery Rhyme Edition is the inclusion of a coloring book to complete the series.

Nalani Scharsch wrote "Old Nene's Book Of Hawaiian Nursery Rhymes" after her own three children begged for bedtime stories. From a nightly ritual, it turned into a passionate mission to share these stories with other children who were yearning for the same type of familiarity, but with a different twist. The decision to add Hawaiian words to the collection stemmed from a desire to introduce and keep alive 6he Hawaiian Language, which is attempting to make a revival in modern Hawaii.

The word 'lulu' is an old-fashioned term for a remarkable idea, person, place or thing, and Nalani Scharsch and her work certainly fit that description," said Henry Hutton, Director of Operations, Lulu.
