Birthmother Candle Lighting Celebration
Members of the NC Coalition for Adoption Reform will hold a candle lighting ceremony honoring all birthmothers who relinquished a child to adoption.
Burlington, NC (PRWEB) April 17, 2006 -- NCCAR will host the first Birthmother’s Day, a day to honor and celebrate birthmotherhood. Birthmother’s Day was started in 1990 by a group of birthmothers in Seattle Washington which is always held the Saturday before Mother’s Day.
We are holding this special candle lighting celebration in honor of all of the birthmothers who have relinquished a child to adoption.
The ceremony is open to all members of the adoption triad, adoptees, birthmothers, birthfathers, adoptive parents, siblings. Anyone who has been reunited with someone lost through adoption and anyone who has not yet achieved this goal.
The members of NCCAR will be at this event to celebrate along with you.
