Montreal, Québec (PRWEB) April 19, 2006
Drummond Designs, one of North America’s largest developers of architectural residential home plans, has just reached a significant milestone with the selling of its 100,000th house plan. The plan, about to be purchased by Nathan Ogden of Pick-it Construction inc., a home-builder in Fayetteville Arizona, will be given and shipped, free of charge, to the builder.
Illustrating the magnitude of this milestone, 100,000 homes are approximately the total number of single-family homes in Tampa, Florida. Making the feat even more impressive is the fact these 100,000 house plans were sold over a 33-year span. During this ever-changing time period, Drummond Designs demonstrated a notable ability to recreate and refine styles and models, integrating the latest building materials so they would be harmonious with the communities and environments in which they were being built.
Drummond Designs has devoted a significant portion of its budget and workforce to research and development efforts in this 33-year stretch in order to respond to the major housing trends in booming markets throughout the United States and Canada.
“Partnering with North America’s top publishers was instrumental in our being able to reach this 100,000-plans milestone,” said Yves Carignan, CEO and partner of Drummond Designs inc.
“We intend to foster these special relationships, but we also realize our growth in the coming years will most likely be derived from the strategic alliances we develop, one by one, with homebuilders and resellers that regard Drummond Designs as a value-added dimension to their respective businesses. This approach should enable us to reach the next plateau of 200,000 plans sold by 2020.”
Over the years, Drummond Designs has adapted its house-plan collections to ensure its models conform to the International Residential Code and the International Building Code. Thus far, the company has developed more than 2,000 models and integrated a growing number of plans to better respond to lot size requirements. Drummond Designs also recognizes the need for well-designed and adapted building solutions in the face of climatic changes that are causing considerable turmoil. As a result, most of Drummond Designs’ house plans are easily adjustable, using concrete blocks or a wooden-frame structure.
