Proteus, Inc., a leading creator and developer of mobile entertainment, has teamed-up with Scripps Networks to allow viewers of their flagship reality shows -- “HGTV Design Star” and “The Next Food Network Star II” -- vote for their favorite contestants right from their mobile phones. Viewers are able to vote once each day both online and via their cell phones by texting-in their choices during the voting periods.
Premiering July 23 on HGTV, “HGTV Design Star” is an exciting eight-episode competition that gives ten contestants the opportunity to prove their design talents and expertise. Together with Proteus, Scripps Networks has allowed its viewers to not only choose one of the ten contestants via their mobile phones (February 20-26) but also decide which lucky homeowner will be featured on the show to receive a room makeover (March 13-19). In August, fans will also be able to vote for the final winner of the contest by clicking at HGTV.com or texting their choices to HGTV1, or 44881.
“The Next Food Network Star” follows on its first season success and gives eight finalists the chance to showcase their skills, personalities, and overall food philosophies through a series of cooking tasks. The series premiered March 19, and airs six consecutive Sundays at 9 PM EST/PT, ending with the finale on Sunday, April 23. The Selection Committee will narrow the finalist to two, and from April 16 to April 20, viewers will decide who will win by voting online at FoodNetwork.com or by texting-in their choices to FOODN, or 36636. The winner will then be announced during the finale.
