LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) April 19, 2006 –
Traveling tends to have a profound influence on creative minds. Having spent weeks in Europe this Fall – often with antiques dealers and touring manors – lifestyle designer Barclay Butera was re-inspired by the traditions of that continent. Results of this will be seen at Spring High Point, where Barclay Butera Home (BBH) will be located at IHFC Interhall H159. As always, Butera does not let any one era or style dominate, but mixes his latest experiences with what he does best: blending furniture and pattern-on-pattern fabric designs and textures to create warm, elegant and casually glamorous spaces where people enjoy gathering.
This Spring introduces a few new pieces, as well as new fabrics, which traditionally play a key role in Butera reinterpreting his classic pieces. The showroom updates his trademark beach mix of blue-and-white in incredibly current, elegant and fresh fabrics. He incorporates animal prints to elevate expectations of simple blue/white themes, having seen the impact of such prints in European homes. The overall look is transitional with a slightly more traditional edge, and everything continues to be clean, tailored and detailed. Barclay Butera Home is proud to present for Spring’s High Point Market:
- Hudson Host Chair: Masculine and feminine, this high-backed wing chair has flat-topped arms with a rolled front. It is often used as a host/hostess chair or as an occasional chair. Traditional, but hip, shown in cotton Porcelain Paisley. Dimensions: 32”w x 27”d x 44”h
- Avenue Chair: Transitional chair, smaller-scaled for condo/apartment living or smaller rooms. Features X-bracket base, very clean-lined. Shown in cotton Blue Large Floral. Dimensions: 25”w x 25”d x 35”h.
- Bel Air Bench: Lounge bench/daybed with double-X solid wood bracket base. Perfect in front of a fireplace, or for a large room needing seating without blocking view or flow. Shown in silk/linen Kells Bronze Dublin Stripe. Dimensions: 84”w x 30”d x 35”h.
Also being introduced (photos not currently available) are the Manchester Sofa and Hyland Chair. The Manchester is in the Chesterfield sofa style, tufted, high-armed, with tapered legs in a dark finish. It is masculine and shows a strong English influence. The Hyland is a high-backed wing chair – a Butera specialty - with carved bracket base and flared arm, ala a classic Queen Anne chair.
In early April, Butera opened his first Barclay Butera Home showroom on the East Coast, at New York’s prestigious Design & Decoration Building (D&D). The opening coincided with the one-year anniversary of BBH at Los Angeles’ Pacific Design Center (PDC). For Spring, both showrooms express Butera’s vision of the bright colors and patterns of vintage Palm Beach, presaging his Miami opening in late 2006.
