Shavar Ross goes behind the lens for Tri Seven Entertainment debut film.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 19, 2006 -- Tri Seven Entertainment presents “A Taste of Us”, an urban inspirational comedy directed and produced by Shavar Ross. The story follows two best friends who help an elderly pastor regain his church after members of his congregation are convinced he’s eloping with a woman 40 years his junior. The soon-to-be released film stars newcomer Bill Toliver, Nadia Turner (former American Idol finalist), Joe Claire (B.E.T.), Debra Wilson (Scary Movie 4) and Amentha Dymally (Baby Boy) with special appearances by Omar Gooding, Al Jarreau, Tico Wells, Sam Sarpong and more.

Writer, director, producer Shavar Ross is fondly remembered as "Dudley", Gary Coleman's best friend on the hit 1980's television show "Diff'rent Strokes". Ross, now 34, has been an actor for well over 20 years and starred in over 100 films and episodic television productions including What's Love Got To Do With It?, Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, Family Matters, and many more.

Shavar now takes his turn behind the lens. With two shorts under his belt and a DVD distribution deal on the table, Shavar felt confident enough to take the reigns of his first feature, “A Taste of Us”. Ross’ first short, “Soul To Take” garnered recognition through a distribution deal with Simmons Lathan. Although his second short which initially dawned the title “A Taste of Us” caught the attention of Image Entertainment.

Image Entertainment has been responsible for such releases as Higher Ground, The Donnie McClurkin Story: From Darkness to Light, Beef 1 & 2 and their latest Grad Night, which also stars from “A Taste Of Us” Aloma Wright. As pacesetters in the world of DVD and home video entertainment, Image Entertainment opened its creative heart to Shavar after not only seeing the short, “A Taste of Us”, but upon the realization that at 34 he is a 20 year veteran in the entertainment industry.
