Medford, Oregon (PRWEB) April 19, 2006 -- Medford business man Greg Keys has built a website called Phat-Tea.com. Advertising revenue from the site will fund the building of a new Milky Bubble Boba Tea Shop in Southern Oregon. Ad space will sell for as little as $10 and also be used to print on their business merchandise when the store opens.
Owner Greg Keys says “My goal is to help everyone who helps us. The website was designed from that point of view.”

So what exactly is Milky Bubble Boba Tea?

Bubble Tea originated in the early 1980’s at a tea stand in Taiwan when the owner started adding different fruit flavoring to her tea, after adding flavor the tea needed to be shaken which formed bubbles in the drink and came to be known as “Bubble Tea.”

In 1983 the new fad was to add tapioca pearls. Tapioca pearls are black, white or transparent and about the size of a marble. Their consistency is somewhere between jell-o and chewing gum.

The tea and flavor are poured over tapioca pearls on the bottom of a clear cup and sealed with a thin plastic lid making for a unique appearance.

With tapioca pearls in the bottom a fat straw is needed so the pearls can be sucked up and eaten with the drink. This drink is healthy, tasty and if you’ve ever had one, addictive.
