Most know that the pipeline crossroads of America are right in Cushing Oklahoma, but Cushing also has one of the largest oilfield supplies and service companies in Oklahoma as well. Cushing, OK (PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Growth is becoming the norm for local company AKL Services. “I am very excited about what is happening here both at AKL Services, as well as for the industry as a whole,” states Kenny Longbrake. “I was in the industry during the bust and throughout the lean times. The boom we are having is great for all involved in the industry. It’s a great thing to see.”

AKL Services was started by Kenny and his wife Beth Longbrake, literally in their back yard in Cushing Oklahoma. It is truly a family business as their two sons and daughter in-law are working within the organization that is continuing to prosper. From their backyard, the Longbrakes moved AKL to a location in Drumright, then eventually moving to current location back in Cushing. AKL has also acquired a couple of companies through their growth process. First acquisition was Phil’s Pipe & Supply in Drumright, then AKL acquired Patterson Pump & Supply and Oilfield Operating, both were Cushing based companies that AKL combined all services at the Cushing location. This allowed AKL to expand their casing tubing into API, as well as increasing their production equipment sales and services. The acquisitions also increased their trucking services.

On May 10th, AKL plans to have an open house to show of their new 10,000 sq. ft. facility. The facility was erected completely in house. It will house the new production equipment manufacturing products and services. Noteworthy is that AKL already have plans for another facility to be built on site and in house. The open house is open to the general public and AKL hopes that not only their current clients would come, but also potential clients, Vo-Tech students, Petroleum Engineering students, Oilfield Industry professionals and the general public who might be interested to learn what AKL does. The open house will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Their will be a barbeque lunch provided by AKL from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. There is no cost to attend.
