Dr. BBQ to Chat Live on Cookshack Barbecue Forum
Respected barbecue expert Ray Lampe, aka Dr. BBQ, will chat live online Wednesday May 3rd, 2006 with members of the Cookshack Barbecue Forum. This special event will be a unique opportunity for barbecuers of all skill levels to interact with one of the greats.
Ponca City, OK (PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Ray Lampe, aka Dr. BBQ, will appear on the Cookshack Barbecue Forum (http://www.forum.cookshack.com/groupee) for a live celebrity chat on May 3rd, 2006, from 9-10 pm eastern time. This chat will be beneficial both to competition cooks and people who want to learn about barbecue from someone who has demonstrated time and time again his ability to do great ‘que.
After 18 years as a hobbyist on the barbecue competition circuit, Chicago native Ray Lampe left his trucking business in 2000 and leapt from hobby to career.
Cooking and winning hundreds of competitions and selling ‘que from a roadside stand in Lakeland, FL gave Ray the knowledge and skills to begin his quest to become what he calls a “barbecue promotion guy.” And promote he has. He has traveled the country teaching people how to cook and he competes professionally. Dr. BBQ writes the “Ask Dr. BBQ” column for Fiery Foods and BBQ magazine.
His first Cookbook, Dr. BBQ’s “Big-Time Barbecue Cookbook” released in May, 2005, was such a success that St. Martin’s press has signed him to do 2 more books. The second one is due in May, called “Barbecue All Year Long”.
Dr. BBQ was a featured chef on the Outdoor Life Network’s popular All-Star BBQ Showdown. In 2005 he won the New York State Championship held on Long Island, a Reserve Grand Championship in Wisconsin, and “a couple dozen other awards” while cooking in about 15 contests around the country.
He has owned and cooked in both Cookshack and Fast Eddy’s smokers. Dr. BBQ has been a guest instructor at one of the Cookshack-hosted Fast Eddy’s Cooking Class. Cookshack is honored to present the Cookshack Barbecue Forum Chat with Dr. BBQ.
