Sirinet and Qorvus Deploy Wireless Internet in Southern Oklahoma

A new high-speed wireless network using Qorvus mesh technology is being deployed throughout Lawton, OK (pop. 92,757 and the home of Fort Sill) by Sirius Systems, a leading Internet Service Provider in southern Oklahoma.

(PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- A new high-speed wireless network using Qorvus mesh technology is being rolled out throughout Lawton, OK (pop. 92,757 and the home of Fort Sill) by Sirius Systems, http://www.sirinet.net/ a leading ISP in southern Oklahoma. The system has been deployed for only two months but is already seeing heavy use from both new customers, and existing Sirinet customers being transitioned from dial-up and DSL to the new high-speed wireless service.

Dave Davault, Sirinet's Chief of Operations, says "We're really impressed with the bandwidth and performance we've been able to offer our customers using the Qorvus technology. With Qorvus' new hybrid 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz meshing and ptmp architecture, we're seeing net payloads at the customer ranging up to 5 mb/s - this is a huge improvement over what we were getting with our older wireless setup."

Tom Sharples, Qorvus' President, said "Lawton is one of our largest installations to date. We were especially pleased that Sirinet gave us this opportunity to show how well our new technology scales to the heavy and widespread usage we're experiencing there."

The Qorvus Qnode system offers excellent performance and a sophisticated built-in management system that can be seen here:

and central monitoring, email alerts, and node geo-mapping through its Qportal web-based server systems.

In addition to the Qnode family of outdoor mesh routers, Qorvus offers the self-contained MeshCam IP mesh camera systems to provide remote video internet monitoring in downtowns and for perimeter security and RFID applications. A live feed can be seen here:
