Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Chapters South Point in Edmonton, Alberta, is gearing up for their annual Word 4 Word Arts Festival. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better with a ‘who’s who’ of local and area talent, including Canadian mystery author Cheryl Kaye Tardif.

Cheryl Kaye Tardif is the author of three mystery novels:

  • The River is an action-packed suspense thriller that has attracted fans of Michael Crichton (Timeline) and Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons). Tardif’s new thriller takes the reader to the rugged and isolated Nahanni River in Canada's Northwest Territories -- a land of headless corpses and strange disappearances. Del Hawthorne buried her father seven years ago after he and his co-workers traveled to the Nahanni, disappeared and were eventually presumed dead. When one of the men suddenly shows up, aging rapidly, Del discovers that her father is still alive. Now she must take a group of volunteers into Canada's north to find him. But what she finds instead may hold the key to humanity's survival...or its destruction.

  • Divine Intervention is a psychic suspense that that has earned Tardif the nickname of “the Canadian J.D. Robb" (aka Nora Roberts). Join Jasi McLellan and her team of psychic government agents as they track down a deadly serial arsonist. The manhunt takes them from Vancouver to Kelowna, to Penticton and Victoria, and heats to the boiling point when Jasi discovers that a killer lies in wait...much closer than she imagined. Divine Intervention is a must-read for those who watch the hit TV shows Medium, starring Patricia Arquette or Ghost Whisperer, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt.

  • Whale Song is a beautiful, poignant story of a young girl who moves from the US to Vancouver Island where she encounters racism, bullying and betrayal. After a tragic event leaves her with partial amnesia, Sarah Richardson shuts herself off from everyone she ever loved...until the day she finally remembers. Whale Song is a story about family, loyalty, love and forgiveness. This story is for anyone, any age, who loves an emotional journey into captivating BC landscapes and native folklore. Tardif has nearly finished the screenplay that was requested by a leading film producer.

Cheryl Kaye Tardif is the Edmonton Area Publishing Associate for Trafford Publishing, a leading print-on-demand publisher based in Victoria, BC. As the CEO of BookAdz, a company that promotes Canadian and American writers, Tardif helps to promote Canadian and American authors online. She also promotes local Alberta authors with her site AlbertaAuthors.com. And Tardif created A.F.T.E.R. Canada, an organization that raises funds for survivors of tragic events, after the Asian tsunamis that devastated many countries.

Tardif is one of over twenty authors who will be appearing at the Word 4 Word Arts Festival held at Chapters South Point, 3227 Calgary Trail South, Edmonton, AB.
