Poemsource.com Introduces New Greeting Card Poems for Mother's Day and Father's Day

Poemsource.com recently added to its free online greeting card poem offerings to include new, original Mother's Day and Father's Day poems for cards, e-cards, and other applications.

(PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Poemsource.com recently added to its online greeting card poem offerings to include new, original Mother's Day and Father's Day poems for cards, e-cards, and other applications.

Greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs says the poems are designed to be sentimental and to touch the hearts of Mom and Dad.

"Sometimes it's hard to express loving feelings in words, even those to whom we are closest," she says. "These poems get the desired message across in an easy, comfortable way."

As with all the poemsource.com pages, most of these Mother's Day and Father's Day poems are rhyming poems, with a recognizable rhythm or "meter." "Poets and poetry critics like free verse," says Fuchs, "but consumers are clamoring for old-fashioned rhyming poems."

Fuchs says she’s been writing rhyming greeting card poems for decades. "When I was about eight years old, I started writing little jingles for the homemade cards I gave to my relatives," she says, "and I’ve been doing it ever since. I put up the site about 18 months ago, and I just keep adding poems to it."

Here's a sample Mother's Day poem:

Nobody's Like You, Mom

Nobody's quite like you, Mom.
You're special in every way.
You cheer me up, you fill my cup
With tenderness, come what may.

Nobody loves me like you, Mom.
No matter what I do,
Good or bad, happy or sad,
You support me; You always come through.

Nobody's equal to you, Mom.
With you in my life, I'm blessed.
I love you so, and I want you to know
I think you're the very best!

And here's a Father's Day poem:

Everything Dad

A little girl needs her daddy
To love her with manly charm,
To soothe her when she’s hurt,
And keep her safe from harm.

A girl needs her dad
To show her a man who’s good,
To help her make right choices,
As only a father could.

A woman needs her father
Just to be aware,
He’ll always be there for her
To sustain her and to care.

You’ve been all these things, Dad.
I hope that you can see
How much I treasure you;
You mean everything to me.
