RecruitMilitary, LLC, has launched a career fairs production operation and promoted Larry Slagel to lead the effort as Senior Vice President, RecruitMilitary Career Fairs.

Slagel had been the company’s Senior Vice President of Recruiting, and was formerly a captain in the Marine Corps. He will continue to manage RecruitMilitary’s nationwide program of staff visits to military bases.
RecruitMilitary connects employers with job seekers who have a military background. The company offers employers throughout Corporate America a full array of recruiting products, including participation in job fairs; subscriptions to its database of registered job seekers, currently numbering more than 105,000; job postings on its Web site, www.recruitmilitary.com; advertising in online and print media; and contingency hiring services. All of the company’s owners, officers, account executives, and recruiters are either veterans or active or former reservists. RecruitMilitary is headquartered in Cincinnati and has eight field offices throughout the United States. The company was founded in 1998.
RecruitMilitary has offered participation in career fairs since 2004. The company began producing these events in February 2006, leading off with a highly successful career fair in Jacksonville, Florida. RecruitMilitary has scheduled 12 events for the remainder of 2006:

Larry Slagel received a degree in criminal justice from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. Later that year, he graduated from the Officer Tank Basic School in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was then assigned as a platoon commander at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. His platoon won the Marine Association Tank Gunnery Proficiency Award in 1988 and 1989. In 1990, Slagel was assigned as an Officer Selection Officer—a recruiter of future officers—in Columbus, Ohio. In 1993, Officer Selection Station Columbus was named the top station of the year in the Fourth Marine Corps District, which included all or parts of seven states. As a result of that achievement, Slagel was ranked as the top OSO out of 17 officers and awarded the Navy Commendation Medal.
Slagel joined RecruitMilitary in 2001. Before that, he was Senior Vice President of Carew International, a global sales training and consulting organization based in Cincinnati.
