VirtualAgility has named Frank Nicolai, a retired executive officer and director of American Management Systems, to its Board of Directors.

AMS, a consulting and systems integration firm, operates in 15 countries. Mr. Nicolai co-founded AMS in 1970 and, over the next 32 years, helped grow it into a billion-dollar enterprise, now part of CGI-AMS. In that time, he served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer.

“Being able to draw on Frank Nicolai’s expertise is a tremendous advantage to us,” said VirtualAgility President Stuart Rudolph. “His understanding of operations, finance and personnel is encyclopedic. Investors and potential investors will surely be impressed to learn that Frank Nicolai is working with us.”

For his part, Mr. Nicolai sees a rare conjunction of market need and product. “VirtualAgility WorkCenter is a unique solution for the pressing problem of sharing information across jurisdictions,” he said. “That makes VirtualAgility indispensable to every agency tasked with intelligence, security, logistics or emergency response. Coming from the systems integration world and being familiar with the agencies that would benefit most, I saw VirtualAgility’s value immediately. Users can deploy WorkCenter quickly. Its flexibility enables high levels of adaptability in fluid situations. WorkCenter is equally valuable in the tabletop and training exercises necessary to ensure operational readiness.”

In addition to his responsibilities at VirtualAgility, Mr. Nicolai serves as a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of The American Society for Cell Biology, a non-profit organization of 11,000 researchers and educators located throughout the United States and 50 foreign countries. He is also a Director of InfraSi, Inc. a firm utilizing open source code and off-the-shelf hardware to provide high performance data storage solutions for very large organizations.
