Charleston Homes, a Triangle-based homebuilder, won five awards at the 2006 Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence (MAME) awards ceremony held at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh for their design and advertising work for their new home development, Charleston Common at Alexander Place.

The local homebuilder won awards for best community ad for a newspaper, best community ad for a magazine, best interior merchandising for a home under 1,500 square feet, best detached home 1,500 square foot or less and best detached home 1,500 to 2,000 square foot.

“We are proud of the work we have done in our first property,” said James Baker, president of Charleston Homes. “The awards we have won and the quality homes we have built speak for themselves.”

Charleston Common at Alexander Place is the first project by Charleston Homes, a division of Carolina Communities Development Group. The community features 79 of the builder’s distinctive Charleston-style homes along with a cabana and pool all located conveniently off Brier Creek Parkway.

The community has proven to be a fast seller among home buyers, due to the affordable first-rate homes in the fast growing Brier Creek area. Many of the homes have sold out hours, even minutes after they have become available by Realtors, according to Baker.

The MAME Awards, presented by the Triangle Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Raleigh/Wake County, honors the Major Achievers in Marketing Excellence. MAME is the Triangle’s largest and most prestigious marketing awards competition in the building and real estate industries.

“These awards are impressive considering the competition included nationally-know builders with more communities and bigger profiles,” said Scott McCrary, president of Carolina Communities Development Group. “This has shown that Charleston Homes is capable of making quality homes that compare favorably to national builders.”
