M2M Data Corp. CEO writes about real-world applications of M2M technology.

M2M Data Corporation, an Internet-based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) leader, today unveiled a new blog called M2M Headquarters (http://www.m2mHQ.com) dedicated to industrial applications of machine-to-machine technology. This new blog follows the format of the original Industrial M2M blog concentrating on real-world applications of this emerging technology—applications that provide rapid a return on investment for operators of remote industrial assets such as natural gas compressor, standby generators, and oil and gas production facilities.

M2M technology offers a cost-effective alternative to proprietary SCADA and telemetry systems traditionally used by energy producers and distributors to manage their remote assets.

Donald Wallace, M2M Data Corporation’s CEO, sums up the purpose of the blog, “We had an incredible level of regular readership of the original Industrial M2M blog that we decided to move it from a hosted service (Blogger) to our own servers. This will give us greater control and more flexibility, and hopefully make the blog more useful and informative to our readers. We appreciate the support of the M2M community and hope they’ll visit M2M HQ regularly.”

M2M’s new M2M HQ blog will provide information about products, services, and technology for its current energy markets, but will also cover new applications such as remote meters and pumps, tank batteries, fleet management, HVAC rooftop units, compressors, security systems, traffic lights, weather stations and cell towers.
