FitBeats Espanol Guru Michael Lovato won the Ironman Arizona Triathlon on Sunday April 9, 2006. The Ironman Triathlon consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run. It is a one day, back-to-back race. There are many Ironman races around the world. The latest took place last weekend in and around Tempe, Arizona. And the men’s winner of Ironman Arizona was none other than FitBeats™ guru Michael Lovato.

It was the Boulder, Colorado, resident’s second Ironman victory. He had previously won Ironman Coeur d’Alene, in 2003.

In Tempe, Lovato ran away from the pack and survived a late challenge by Britain’s Spencer Smith. In the process, Lovato beat two-time Ironman World Champion Tim DeBoom. The winning time was 8:20:56.

Lovato is the Voice of FitBeats™ Español. His wife, Amanda, is onboard as well.

“To race competitively at the Ironman distance takes a lot of time training. Any time an athlete can find a more effective way to maximize that training time, he then gains an advantage on the field.
