Design Chain Associates, LLC (DCA) has had the China RoHS-related Marking and Maximum Concentration Value draft standards professionally translated in to English by an independent 3rd party translation service. We have reviewed them for consistency with the promulgated Chinese law as well as the EU RoHS directive to which they refer, and annotated them as appropriate.

With the incredible amount of misinformation, rumors, and heresay regarding the China RoHS law (officially called the "Administration on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products"), and with the Chinese government declining to provide an English (or any other language besides Chinese) translation of the law or the draft standards, we determined that it is in the best interest of the electronics industry to have at least some information regarding the laws as it comes out and gets defined.

We are working on translating the test and disassembly draft standards as well. As updated versions of all of these standards become available, and until China provides English translations (they have said they might once these Sectoral/Industry Standards are converted to National Standards), DCA will continue to provide the best available translations to the industry.
