Innovative Nursing Bra Helps Busy Mothers Enjoy Breastfeeding

Nursing indicator bras designed to help breastfeeding mothers remember which breast to start each nursing session with. The indicator is built right into the bra.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 22, 2006 -- Owner of online store, C.C. Bear Designs, explains the importance of using the correct breast at the beginning of each nursing session.

A breast feeding mother’s milk production depends on how much milk her baby removes from each breast per feeding. In order to maintain optimal milk production and to prevent clogged ducts (Mastitis) lactation consultants suggest alternating breasts at each feeding. With all of the excitement, stress, and lack of sleep most new moms experience, remembering which breast to start each nursing session with can be a lot more difficult than it sounds.

It seems like such a simple design, but it made things go so much more smoothly for my daughter and me. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the breastfeeding experience instead of trying to use a journal to keep track of each feeding.
Out of her own frustration, online retailer (and new mother to Carolyn), Kelly Carlson, set out to create a discreet system that would make this task a bit easier. After deeming the current solutions on the market to be cumbersome or difficult to use, she developed the idea of building the indicator into the bra itself.

Carlson explains that the system uses a sweet embroidered NurseRite® patch as an indicator, on the bra itself, which can be moved from one side of the bra to the other to indicate which breast should be used to start the next feeding. “It seems like such a simple design, but it made things go so much more smoothly for my daughter and me. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the breastfeeding experience instead of trying to use a journal to keep track of each feeding.”

Another important factor of this fabulous system is the bra itself. Knowing that nursing mothers usually wear their bras 24-7, Carlson did extensive research to find the most comfortable bras available. She also provides customers the option of having the indicator system installed on their own favorite nursing bra.
