Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 22, 2006 -- Linda Armstrong Kelly, the mother of seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, will join hundreds of Delaware Valley cancer patients for a luncheon on Wednesday, April 26th at Cancer Treatment Centers of America's Eastern Regional Medical Center (CTCA-Eastern) to celebrate a level of hospital care and service never before available in the Northeastern United States -- the Mother Standard(sm).
CTCA-Eastern opened at 1331 E. Wyoming Avenue in December 2005, after Schaumburg, Ill.-based Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) completely renovated the 270,000-square-foot former Parkview Hospital, which had been vacant since September 2003.
During the noon-time event, Ms. Kelly will share her inspiring story of growing up in poverty, giving birth at 17 and nurturing an active son. Her early life experience molded the values and positive attitude that helped both she and Lance endure his battle with cancer.
