Sing Your Way to Spanish with Jody, a New Bilingual CD, Musically Teaches Spanish to Children and Adults

Sing Your Way to Spanish with Jody is a musical language CD that entertains and educates kids every time they get in the car. This bilingual Spanish CD hooks children and adults alike through its catchy tunes and creative musical arrangements. Listeners pocket Spanish words and phrases, memorizing an expanding musical dictionary with every song.

South Florida, (PRWEB) April 23, 2006 -- Sing Your Way to Spanish with Jody is a new musical language CD that uses catchy music to teach Spanish. Children and adults alike find themselves humming bilingual songs and learning Spanish every step of the way.

Learning Spanish is becoming more important every day. Hispanic Americans are the fastest growing demographic group in the United State, according to the Population Resource Center (PRC), a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. and Princeton, New Jersey. PRC research shows Hispanics making up 18% of the U.S. population by 2025 and if current trends continue, one out of every four Americans will be Hispanic by 2050. *

Sing Your Way to Spanish with Jody was released in 2005. Within a few months it was purchased by Broward County Schools, the 5th largest school district in the country.

Learning language through music is very effective," Dreher goes on to say. “The songs serve as a musical dictionary, enabling the listener to commit phrases quickly to memory and effortlessly internalize their meaning." In addition to colors, numbers and polite greeting phrases, the Spanish and English vocabulary in the songs reflect everyday language that a child or adult would use, such as, I'm going to the park…Yo voy al parque, Tell me if you like it…Dime si te gusta, El perro corre…The dog runs, Can you?...¿Puedes tú? Each song is a simple lesson centered around easy-to-relate-to themes.

Dreher herself has been studying and teaching languages for years, but only seven years ago began her musical curriculum. It all started when she offered to create a Spanish class for 4-5 year olds over the summer. They were too young for reading and grammar, so, being a singer and guitar player, she fell back on her musical side and began writing bilingual songs to teach them. It worked so well that she's been writing songs and teaching through music ever since.

Dreher also presents her Spanish / English music in live performances at schools, libraries, private parties, and bookstores. The performance kick-starts children's interest, and then the children carry it forward with the musical language CD.

Says Suzanne Balmori, Spanish teacher at Nova Eisenhower Elementary School in Davie Florida, “My students and I love it. I must have this CD for my primary curriculum. I have been using a cassette, but that music is "dead" compared to yours. Another plus are the instrumentals - I call it 'Disney" quality."
