Unity Corps Launches First Bilingual Internet Sites to Help Defeat H.R. 4437
Two new web sites, GranMarcha.org and HR4437.net, provide arguments against support for proposed legislation H.R. 4437 along with quick links for public contact of voting members on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Photographs from La Gran Marcha, the mass demonstration against H.R. 4437 held in downtown Los Angeles, are also being broadcast.
(PRWEB) April 24, 2006 -- Unity Corps, Inc., based in Los Angeles, has launched the first bilingual English and Spanish language web sites to help defeat H.R. 4437. Also known as, The Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005, H.R. 4437 was approved by the U.S. House of Representatives on December 16, 2005. The Senate Judiciary Committee is likely to resume its debate over this highly controversial bill when coming back from its Spring break on April 27. In an effort to help sway public opinion and Congress against further drastic measures aimed against the undocumented workers living in this country, Unity Corps has launched the two new web sites, GranMarcha.org and its mirror site HR4437.net.
According to Angel Tenes, Executive Director of Unity Corps, “These two web sites have been created to provide the public with a basic summary on why the proposed legislation is wrong. Of equal importance, these two sites are providing a means for the public to voice their opposition directly to those Senators that will be voting on the bill.” Mr. Tenes also said, “It’s unfortunate that popular media has vilified this predominantly hard working and decent segment of the community. Many of the fears being expressed regarding undocumented workers, such as loss of American jobs, criminal activity and impediments to national security aren’t supported by the statistics.”
The Unity Corps sites provide both the telephone numbers and direct links for contact to each of the voting Senators. Unity Corps is also Internet broadcasting a gallery of photographs from the mass protest demonstration held against H.R. 4437, known as La Gran Marcha, which occurred on March 25th, 2006 in downtown Los Angeles.
