The maturity of SAS technology empowers Aberdeen to deliver a truly modernized SAS storage solution to our customers.
Santa Fe Springs, California (PRWEB) April 24, 2006
Aberdeen LLC, the Custom Server Solution Provider, has developed the industry's first customizable SAS storage server solution. With yet another enhancement to its line of storage-optimized solutions, Aberdeen eagerly looks forward to utilizing the benefits of SAS to deliver a storage server with most the advanced technology available in the market today.
The major improvements of SAS technology include support for up to 128 hard drives on a single controller, more than quadrupling SCSI bandwidth for substantial performance gains. As with all Aberdeen Stirling servers, the Stirling X332 offers the benefit of RAID controller redundancy. Additionally, upgrading to SAS will allow for backward compatibility with SATA II drives for unprecedented flexibility and involves zero cost premiums compared with traditional SCSI solutions.
In demonstrating the Stirling X332 at the NAB 2006 Convention, Booth #SL1406, Aberdeen will illustrate the cutting-edge performance of SAS technology and its hot-swap interchangeability of SATA II and SAS drives. With 16 drive-bays and the ability to combine both types of drives in any combination, the Stirling's versatility is unending, not to mention the expandability to virtually unlimited TBs with an external SAS connector.
"The maturity of SAS technology empowers Aberdeen to deliver a truly modernized SAS storage solution to our customers." said Jack Tateel, Executive Vice President. "As a storage solution innovator, we maintain our first-to-market position as pioneers of Serial Attached SCSI technology, and guide our customers seamlessly into the future of storage technology."
For customers looking to take part in the early SAS adoption process, Aberdeen has launched the first in a series of SAS powered solutions. The 3U Stirling X332 server combines hot-swappable 950-watt triple redundant power with support for five expansion cards. It features SES2 SAS technology with an Adaptec® 4800SAS controller which supports sixteen hot-swap SAS or SATA II hard drives at 3 GB/second, and utilizes two dual Intel® Xeon® processors.
The X332 provides the ultimate in availability, while maximizing expansion, storage capacity, and thermal control. As an enterprise-class, next generation storage server, the Stirling X332 delivers a robust storage platform with a diverse option of drive medium to support mission-critical applications. It delivers redundancy in power, disk drives and controller cards, and most impressively, the controlled cost of ownership and peace of mind of a standard five year warranty.
Availability and Support:
The SAS line of storage Stirling X332 servers are scheduled to begin shipping in late Q2 with worldwide availability. The ultra redundant dual controller card models of the SAS Stirling storage solutions are scheduled to ship through the same channels during Q3, 2006. Aberdeen can custom configure any server to meet even the most stringent requirements via the Aberdeen Web site (http://www.aberdeeninc.com), or by contacting a sales executive at (800)552-6868. Aberdeen has a media recognized, industry leading 5-year limited warranty as well as a free 10-day trial assessment program on all of its branded server solutions.
